College and Career Ready

Rancho Mirage High School is committed to preparing every student for success after graduation. Students are encouraged to explore college, career, technical education and other postsecondary opportunities throughout high school.

California’s College/Career Indicator recognizes several ways students may demonstrate readiness for life after high school, including:

Advanced Placement courses and examinations
Completion of University of California and California State University A–G requirements
Career Technical Education pathway completion
Qualifying college credit or dual-enrollment coursework
International Baccalaureate examinations
Leadership or Military Science programs
Registered pre-apprenticeship programs
Grade 11 Smarter Balanced assessments in English language arts and mathematics
Approved state and federal job programs
The California State Seal of Biliteracy
Qualifying transition classroom and work-based learning experiences

Some readiness measures require specific grades, assessment scores or a combination of accomplishments. Students should meet regularly with their school counselor to review graduation requirements, course selections and college and career goals.
