Our Competitive Teams

Our game titles are selected for their strong focus on teamwork, strategy, and competitive play while aligning with RCOE and NASEF/CIF scholastic esports standards. DVEA students build skills that connect to organized competitive esports opportunities at the high school and collegiate levels.

League of Legends

League of Legends is a 5-player team-based strategy game where teams work together to outmaneuver and outplay opponents on a strategic battlefield. Every player has a defined role and must collaborate to succeed.

Successful League of Legends players must develop exceptional team communication, strategic planning, role accountability, data analysis, quick adaptability and leadership skills.

DVEA 1st Place, 2026

Super Smash Bros.

Super Smash Bros. is a competitive battle game where players control unique characters competing in fast-paced matches. Unlike traditional battle games, victory requires positioning, timing, and strategy rather than simple button pressing.

Successful players develop advanced hand-eye coordination, opponent analysis, strategic positioning, pattern recognition, mental endurance, and have the ability to quickly adapt and maintain their composure in high-pressure situations.

Rocket League

Rocket League combines soccer and high-speed vehicles in a competitive arena. Teams work together to score goals while defending against opponents in fast-paced matches.

Rocket League Players develop spacial awareness, team coordination, rotation strategy, real-time decision-making and succeed through strategic positioning, good communication and disciplined teamwork.

Marvel Rivals

Marvel Rivals is a fast-paced, team-based game where players take on the roles of Marvel heroes and villains, working together to complete objectives and outplay the opposing team. Success requires much more than individual skill—players must communicate, understand their role, and make quick decisions as a team.

Successful players develop teamwork, communication, strategic thinking, situational awareness, adaptability, and the ability to make decisions and solve problems together under pressure.

Schedule & Standings

The DVEA regular season runs from November through February, with teams competing in head-to-head matches throughout the season. Team results determine their standings in the DVEA rankings and playoff seeding. Top teams advance to a single-elimination playoff bracket leading to the in-person DVEA Finals in April 2026.
